Information Session: Study in England Programme | University of Worcester

Do you have dreams of traveling to other countries? Do you want to completely immerse yourself in another culture? Well, the Study in England Programme is perfect for you! If you are interested in learning more about this exciting opportunity, come to the information session!

We will also video chat with UMD students in Worcester now so you can hear about this awesome opportunity from them! In this program you will live in the town of Worcester, England for nine months and simultaneously pursue your major, minor, and liberal education requirements. You'll meet incredible people and have lasting experiences you will cherish forever. In the meantime, if you are interested in learning more before the session, please visit out website. Students currently in the programme have started a blog you can check out. We look forward to seeing you there!

Join the International Education Office for Study Abroad 101

Come learn the basics of studying abroad at UMD! No need to register, just show up. These informational sessions are led by a staff member in the UMD International Education Office. Often times these sessions have a small number of students who attend, so the session can be altered to fit your specific needs/questions.

  • The difference between UMD and Non-UMD programs
  • Cost -Courses and how they transfer back to your degree at UMD

UMD Music presents Voice Master Class: David Mayfield, Vocal Coach, Manhattan School of Music

David Mayfield is a New York pianist who specializes in working with singers. David Mayfield's many accomplishments include: Training with famed accompanists John Wustman and Martin Katz, he worked with national opera companies and students alike, honing his interpretative and teaching skills..In New York since 1997, Mr. Mayfield was vocal coach at the New School, where he was invited to play Liza Minnelli's master class; he has been on staff at Manhattan School of Music since 2000.
He returns to UM/Duluth in the spring of 2012 to perform on their Ovation recital series and lead master classes.

Achieving national fame with this Pulitzer Prize-winning play, Sam Shepard offers a macabre view of a Midwestern American family in a drama that revolves around a dark and terrible secret. The work conveys a mystical and cannibalistic pull that binds the family even as its most essential ties unravel. Could digging up the past deliver them from their sins or will it drive them even further over the edge?

"Play ball!" UMD Theatre & UMD Music presents the classic baseball-themed musical comedy Damn Yankees. A passionate Washington Senators fan sells his soul to the Devil - and the Devil's seductive assistant - in order to be transformed into a star outfielder who can lead his beloved team to a victory against those damn Yankees. Based on the novel The Year the Yankees Lost The Pennant and featuring music and lyrics by Richard Adler and Jerry Ross, Damn Yankees features such hit songs as "Heart," "Whatever Lola Wants, Lola Gets" and "Shoeless Joe From Hannibal Mo."

Requesting a Career Presentation for your Group

Have questions about major or career choice, finding an internship, conducting a job search, or preparing for graduate school?

Invite Career and Internship Services staff to meet with your club, organization, team, or group of friends to help you answer your questions. Work with a staff member to design a presentation specifically for your group. Mix and match topics from the list below or come up with your own topic:

  • Using your strengths in the job and internship search
  • Identifying careers related to your interests using the Strong Interest Inventory

To schedule a presentation, submit the UMD Career and Internship Services Presentation Request Form.. Please allow at least two weeks notice for all presentations. You will immediately receive a confirmation that your request has been received and within 3 working days you will receive a confirmation for your presentation.

Bulldog Lobby Day

Come down to the Minnesota State Capitol with University of Minnesota Duluth Student Association to advocate on behalf of UMD!

The day will be filled with students telling legislators their stories about how important UMD is to them and how, more than ever, we need state support.

Buses leave around 7:45 am and we will return around 7 pm. It is a free event and breakfast and lunch will be covered. We will stop by Chipotle on our way back. If you are coming we ask that you dress business casual or wear your bulldog gear!
