The Tweed Museum of Art Presents a new educational event for art lovers! TWEEVENINGS.

Join us in the Tweed Museum of Art's new Library (upper floor) to learn about Dean Meeker. Dr. Robert Leff presents: Dean Meeker: A Dialogue Between Prints and Sculpture. Dr. Robert Leff will be presenting the visual comparison of the artist’s process between sculpture and works-on-paper. Several of Meeker’s prints and sculptures will be on display, providing a rich background for comparison and discussion on how the artist’s choice of medium helps portray his themes.

Every first Tuesday of the month, we offer the opportunity to all art lovers to come to Tweed to discover our collection and/or see new acquisitions. Faculty, students and community members are invited to choose work to be discussed! If you are interested in being a future presenter or would like further information about this event, please contact Joan Slack at 218-726-7056.

Compleat Female Stage Beauty

UMD Theatre presents Compleat Female Stage Beauty By Jeffrey Hatcher Directed by Kate Ufema
“She was the first of her kind. He was the last of his.” It’s 1661, the moment in time when women assumed their rightful place on the Shakespearean stages of England. King Charles II decreed that male players were no longer permitted to perform women’s roles, and the torch was passed. Jeffrey Hatcher’s historically based script places us in the minds and hearts of the people, and shockingly illuminates a brutal, rocky road of change. Adult language and subject matter. Not suggested for children under 17.

December 5 - 7 & 11 - 14, 2013 @ 7:30 pm | December 8, 2013 @ 2 pm
Mainstage Theatre - Marshall Performing Arts Center

Adult $18 | UMD Faculty & Staff $15 | Senior $13 | Student $8 | UMD Student $6 2 for 1 Tickets on Wed., 12/11/13 for EVERYONE! (of equal or lesser value.)
