Winter Welcome

Dear New UMD Student,

As a new member of our community, you are required to attend orientation for all incoming students, a great half-day program called Winter Welcome. Winter Welcome is an excellent opportunity to meet new people, explore campus, and learn about UMD’s resources. The following will be covered at Winter Welcome:

  • Transfer Credit Evaluations
  • APAS Report
  • Graduation Planner
  • The Learning Commons
  • Advising and Registration (Academic Advisers will not be available this day!)
  • UMD Clubs and Organizations
  • Health and Wellness
  • Connect P2P Program

What: UMD Winter Welcome
When: Monday, January 19th, 2015
Where: The Rafters in Kirby Student Center
How: Check-in begins at 8:30 am

A light breakfast and snack will be served. You will also receive an orientation bag with a variety of resources including a notebook and pen. You do not need to bring your laptop. This event is offered at no cost to you.

Parking is available free of charge in any Maroon parking lot. You will be ticketed if you park in Gold parking lots. Once inside UMD, signs will be posted directing you to the Kirby Rafters.

If you plan to ride the DTA bus to campus, please note they will operate on a holiday schedule. Service to and from Duluth/UMD campus is limited. Please make other transportation arrangements as needed.
