Have you signed up for Advisement & Registration?
Here are three easy steps to ensure you are signed up and ready to go for Advisement & Registration:
First, students must initiate their UMD Interent ID and email in order to access the preparatory module (Moodle) and sign up for an Advisement & Registration date. This can be done here or at https://www.umn.edu/initiate?. Enter your personal information as requested then select "submit form." If all the information was entered correctly you will be redirected to a page that says "Internet Login Successful." The next screen will show your interent ID and email address. Please write this down along with your password as you will need it to register during Advisement & Registration. Once you have completed this, come back to this page for the next step of the process.Second, once students have initiated their student account, it is time to enter into our Advisement & Registration preparation module. When you select the link below you will be directed to a University of Minnesota Moodle page. Moodle is an online academic learning resource for U of M students and is widely used. Select the option that says "Enroll Me" to enter yourself into the prepatory guide. You will need to use your internet ID and password to log in. Once you have successfully logged in you will be redirected to the site page. This page is full of information about Advisement & Registration, Financial Aid, Collegiate Units, and general campus expectations.
Third, you will now pay online and pick your date for Advisement & Registration. The link to the sign up page is under Step 11 "What's Next? - Sign Up For Advisement & Registration Now!" Once you have completed all of this you should receive an email confirmation of the date you have selected. Also, our office will be sending you a confirmation packet in the mail within a few weeks of registering. Note: If you are unable to pay online please download the Reply Form just below the registration link and return in the reply envelope found in your invitation packet.
If you have any questions please contact the Office for Students in Transition by email at email@example.com or by phone at 218-726-6393. We cannot wait to see you this spring!

Advisement & Registration for Fall Semester 2013Advisement & Registration is a half-day program designed to provide new students with important information about UMD, review major and degree requirements, provide students with opportunities to meet other new students, offer advisement about course selection, learn about the online class schedule, and register for spring semester classes. Depending on your collegiate unit, you may be attending the morning or the afternoon session; a basic overview of the schedule is below. Please make note of the starting time when you sign up after receiving your invitation. Check in is located on the third floor of Kirby Student Center outside of the ballroom.
Please note that parents, friends and family members who accompany their students to Advisement & Registration will follow the Parent Program schedule. Parents stay with their students for the first thirty minutes during the College Welcome; after that time there are special events for parents, friends and family members. The Parent Program includes presentations from Health Services, Housing, and more. Information on the Parent Program at Advisement & Registration can be found here.
As students are admitted, invitations to Advisement & Registration will be sent out to each individual student packed with all kinds of information critical for their individual day. All invites will be sent out in mid-February for students who have received acceptance letters prior. Students will be asked to reply to their invitations and select one college-specific day to attend. All confirmation packets will be mailed out within two weeks after receiving a student's sign up information.
