Thanks to a cooperative effort between UMD and the Duluth Transit Authority (DTA), UMD students, faculty and staff can ride DTA buses anytime, anywhere throughout the Twin Ports, FREE of charge with their UMD PHOTO I.D.
With more students enrolled this year and less convenient parking on campus (due to new UMD construction), riding the DTA is a smart choice. No fees. No parking hassles. Just FREE city-wide DTA bus service to and from the UMD campus or anywhere in the Twin Ports with the UMD PHOTO I.D.
Your UMD PHOTO I.D. is your PASS for unlimited rides on the DTA. It's good for free rides on any bus route in the Twin Ports at any time on any day.
Only full-time students, faculty and staff qualify for the U-Pass program. Students registered for more than six undergraduate credits or three graduate credits qualify, along with faculty and staff working a minimum of 30 hours per week. When used illegally as a fare payment, U-Card IDs will be confiscated by the driver and violators may be prosecuted under MINNESOTA 609.855 "CRIMES AGAINST TRANSIT ACT."
Check out the DTA web site for routes, schedules, and more information.
