Youth & Community Engagement
Youth and Community provides opportunities for members of the northeastern Minnesota community to participate in recreational and outdoor offerings. Goals include supporting the University mission of outreach, encouraging healthy lifestyles and connections to the outdoors for youth and families.
LEARN TO SKATE!
Learn to skate on Saturday mornings at the UMD Ice Rink! These six beginner based lessons (Levels 1-3) are for children, ages 4+ to learn the basics of ice skating from our UMD KIDSROCK Staff. Along with these lessons each youth participant will receive a T-shirt.

LEARN TO CLIMB!
Learn to climb on Saturday mornings at the UMD Inland Climbing Wall! These six beginner to intermediate based lessons are for children ages 8+ to learn the basics of rock climbing, belaying, and knot tying from our UMD KIDSROCK Staff. Along with these lessons each youth participant will receive a T-shirt and a semester pass for all RSOP Open Climb times at the UMD Northshore Climbing Wall.

PARENT BELAY CLINIC
Parent, siblings and guardians join the UMD KIDSROCK staff for one of our Saturday morning Belay Clinics to learn to belay top-rope indoor climbers! All participants that pass the belay clinic will receive a Semester Climbing Pass for all RSOP Open Climb times at the UMD Inland and/or Northshore climbing walls. Must be 16 years or older. The RSOP Open Climb schedule is located on page 2.

RSOP CLIMBING PASS
The RSOP Climbing Pass allows youth and family participants access to the UMD Climbing walls during RSOP Open Climb times throughout the Spring semester. The RSOP Open Climb schedule is located on our Indoor Climbing Walls page.
