Registration and Wait List Information
The Administrative Assistant in Psychology manages the waitlists until about a week before classes start. Faculty do not have access to their waitlists or their permission numbers until about a week before classes begin.
The Administrative Assistant in Psychology monitors the waitlists during January and over the summer. As seats become available, students on the waitlist will be notified and provided with a permission number via email. Students will have 48 hours to register for the course. If a student fails to register within 48 hours of receiving a permission number, the permission number will expire and the student will be dropped from the waitlist. It is essential that you monitor your email if you are on a waitlist for a course!
Students from the waitlist are added to the classes using the following criteria:
1. Psychology Majors in order of most credits to least credits. Ties will be broken by the date/time that a student added themselves to the waitlist.
2. Psychology Minors in order of most credits to least credits. Ties will be broken by the date/time that a student added themselves to the waitlist.
3. All other students will be added in order of when they added themselves to the waitlist.
About one week before classes begin The Administrative Assistant will give the waitlists to the instructors. Faculty do not have permission numbers until this time. During the first week of class, instructors will monitor their enrollments. If enrollment dips below the enrollment capacity, instructors will provide permission numbers to waitlisted students based on criteria as listed above.
* PSY 3021 & PSY 3022 are for PSY Majors Only*
