International Transfer Credit

Applicants must make all appropriate arrangements for providing official English language translations of secondary and post-secondary academic records. Transfer credit evaluations from international colleges and universities will be accepted directly from external credit evaluation services only. Students may not submit credit evaluations on their own behalf.  If you have attended college or university outside the U.S., submit transcripts from all post-secondary institutions to one of our preferred evaluation services.  If you have already had an external credit evaluation completed by a reviewer other than the following three, that evaluation will be accepted by UMD if it was completed by a service affiliated with NACES

Preferred External Reviewers:

AACRAO (American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers)
ECE (Education Credential Evaluators)
WES (World Education Services)

Always request a course-by-course evaluation be sent to:

You may wish to submit your request after final grades are posted to your transcript so that you need only submit your request once.

International transfer students who enroll at UMD will be awarded a $200.00 International Transfer Student Grant to offset the cost of obtaining official documents from external credential reviewers.
