Email as Official University Communication

University-assigned email accounts ( accounts) are the University's official means of communication.  Regularly check this account. Forwarding to other accounts poses the potential risk of losing attachments. Students are still responsible for all information, including all attachments.

Important communications about classes, grades, registration, advising, financial aid, and bills are often only communicated through university email.

Students can access and use their email account year-round from the UMD homepage.
