UMD’s Dinner with Champions Celebrates Student Athletes

Duluth, MN – The University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) Intercollegiate Athletics will host Dinner with Champions on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at 5 pm. The event takes place in the Lake Superior Ballroom in the City Side Convention Center at the DECC and is open to the public. Tickets can be purchased online or by calling (218) 726-7005 by Thursday, April 23.

Dinner with Champions celebrates UMD’s junior and senior athletes while connecting them with the community and the fans who have cheered for the Bulldogs four the past four years at the rink, on the field, at the track, and on the court.

This event is designed to facilitate networking with the goal of keeping UMD’s standouts in Duluth after graduation. Dinner with Champions includes a social hour and a seating arrangement that matches majors with potential employers.

UMD’s Outstanding Senior Athlete Award and Top Senior Scholar Athlete award winners will be recognized, along with this year’s recipient of the Shjon Podein Community Services Award.

This year’s keynote speaker is Tim Sitarz, a 1991 UMD graduate in communication and media studies. Sitarz was a three-year starting defensive end for the football Bulldogs who went on to become an accomplished Hollywood stuntman/actor. The Minneapolis native has appeared in a multitude of movies, television shows, and national commercials.
