LSBE Dean Amy Hietapelto “Downtown Live” Speaker

DULUTH, MN – On Wednesday, Feb. 19, Amy Hietapelto, dean of the Labovitz School of Business and Economics (LSBE) at the University of Minnesota Duluth, will be a featured guest at the Greater Downtown Council’s “Downtown Live” program at Zinema at Zeitgeist Arts, 222 East Superior Street, Duluth. Joining her will be James Gearity, dean of the School of Business & Technology at the College of St. Scholastica.

Networking begins at 4:30 pm, followed by the program from 5–6 pm. Tickets are $15.00 for Greater Downtown Council members, $20 for non-members. Hietapelto began her role as dean of LSBE on July 1, 2013. Previously, she had served as dean of the College of Business and Management at Northeastern Illinois University (NEIU) in Chicago since 2009. She served as acting dean and associate dean at NEIU prior to holding the dean position. She also has been a faculty member at Michigan Technological University and Clarkson University. Hietapelto received her Ph.D. from the Carlson School of Business at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities with a focus in the area of Organizational Studies.

“Downtown Live” is a quarterly speakers' series providing education, motivation, socializing, and entertainment for those in the business community. Steve Greenfield of Greenfield Communications serves as the host.
