NEMBA READINGS - MEET THE AUTHORS

Three authors who won the 2011 Northeastern Minnesota Book Awards (NEMBA) will read from their works on Thursday, October 27, 2011 from 6:30 p.m. - 8 p.m. in the UMD Library Rotunda.

The three authors are Connie Wanek, author of On Speaking Terms, winner in the category of Poetry; Peter Geye, author of Safe from the Sea, winner in Fiction; and Dennis Herschbach, author of Brown Sugar Syrup and Jack Pine Sand, winner in Memoir/Creative Nonfiction.

The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.

The NEMBAs are announced each June, honoring writers whose books substantially represent the Northeastern region. The UMD Library, and Friends of the Duluth Public Library sponsor the NEMBAs with support from the Lake Superior Writers organization.

Nominations for the 24th annual NEMBAs open in November.

For more information, call 218-726-7889 or visit the NEMBA web page.
