University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) has announced the appointment of Corbin Smyth, Director of the UMD Kirby Student Center, effective September 22.
Prior to UMD, Smyth served as Assistant Director of the Indiana Memorial Union at Indiana University since 2002. A native of Indiana, Smyth earned his M. Ed. in Higher Education Administration from the University of South Carolina in 1998 and B.A. in Telecommunications from Indiana University in 1994.
Smyth has a strong background in student leadership development and co-curricular program development as well as experience in facilities and operations management.
Smyth replaces Neale Roth who retired in June after a 40-year career at UMD.
Kirby Student Center offers activities, services and information for all UMD students. Its mission is to maintain facilities, provide services and promote programs that are responsive to student developmental needs and to the physical, social, recreational and continuing educational needs of the campus community.
