Skateboarders Perform To Raise Funds
for New Duluth Skate Park

Saturday, May 3
Public is Cordially Invited

A fundraiser event for the new Duluth Skate Park will be held this Saturday, May 3, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at "Encounter" (indoor skate area) in downtown Duluth (201 East 1st Street). Skateboard competitions demonstrating spins, flips and tricks, will showcase the talent and skill of skaters in three different age categories.

The lively fundraising event is being held to raise money for the new Duluth Skate Park, an all-concrete skate park, which will be built in Wheeler Park in West Duluth. Thus far $150,000 has been raised to build Phase I, with groundbreaking to take place this summer.

The public is cordially invited to attend. A donation will be accepted at the door.

Community representatives from the Duluth Skate Park committee will be on hand to talk about the project.

This fundraiser event is organized by a group of UMD Kirby Leadership Institute students.
