February 2005

The University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) will celebrate Black History Month, throughout February, with month-long activities. Highlighting the events, will be the 14th Annual Soul Food Dinner and "The Dream Alive Program".

The 14th Annual Soul Food Dinner will take place on February 12 at 6:00 p.m. in the UMD Ballroom. The event will feature keynote speaker, Representative Neva Walker who will speak on, "Building Bridges: Connecting Instead of Dividing." Food and entertainment will be provided. Ticket prices are $28 for couples, $15 for adults, $10 for students, and $6 for children (5-12 years). For each ticket sold, $1 will be donated to the Tsunami Relief fund.

"The Dream Alive Program," a live commentary by Colorado's former Lt. Governor Joe Rogers, will take place on February 17 at 4:30 p.m. in the UMD Ballroom.
