Water-quality expert Jesse Schomberg will describe how land use affects water quality. He will describe changes in water quality in the North Shore region of Lake Superior, explain problems development can cause, and outline actions we can take to protect our water resources.

There are 43 streams in the City of Duluth, including 14 that support trout.

Jesse Schomberg is an assistant professor with the Minnesota Sea Grant program, working with communities on water quality and land-use planning.

The presentation will be accompanied by an exhibit of watercolor paintings of Duluth streams by Tim Larson, Instructor in the UMD Composition Department.
