"Bulldog Bash 2003" Begins

University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) "Freshman Move-In Days" are set for Friday, August 29 (noon to 5 p.m.) and Saturday, August 30 (9 a.m. to 3 p.m.) filling the campus with students, parents, grandparents, and siblings as well as food, music, fun and campus orientation activities. Projected Freshman enrollment at UMD this year tops 2,175 with 88% of Freshman living on campus. Projected total enrollment is set at 10,000.

The official "Chancellor's Welcome Team" comprised of UMD Chancellor Kathryn A. Martin, along with vice chancellors, deans, professors and staff, will be on hand to "fetch and carry "as students move into their campus residence halls. In addition to moving chores, the "Chancellor's Welcome Team" will also work the two food tents, greet parents, answer questions and visit with students. All will be wearing special Welcome Team t-shirts. Over 150 student volunteers from a variety of campus organizations will also be on hand to provide assistance to students and their families.

"Freshman Move-in Days" kicks off "Bulldog Bash 2003", a 4-day series of campus events ranging from convocations and advisement to barbecues and entertainment.
