Completes Advanced Federal Emergency Communication Training
UMD Public Relations Director Susan Beasy Latto recently completed the Advanced
Emergency Communication Training course at the Federal Emergency Management
Agency's (FEMA) Emergency Management Institute in Emmitsburg, Maryland.
The intense training program includes preparation for large-scale emergency
situations and training in: legal issues, risk communication, media relations,
effective crisis communication, and use of the joint information system.
