UMD "TechFest 2002" Set for April 5
Features Over 40 Demonstrations of Latest Technology Being Used at UMD

The public is cordially invited to attend UMD "TechFest 2002" Friday, April 5 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the UMD Kirby Student Center Ballroom.

The fifth annual festival of technology will feature many exciting, new and innovative ways UMD faculty, staff and students are using technology to enhance the learning and the work environment. Over 40 demonstrations will be presented through-out the day. Some examples include:

  • Virtual Reality Wall
  • Comparative Kinetics (reporting of biochemical data as the human body exercises)
  • Student Web Contest Winner Presentations
  • Electronic Reporting of Athletic Statistics, Scores and Live Web Broadcasts
  • Hand-Held I-PAQ’s (being used in classrooms)
  • And Many More

The event will also feature free refreshments, over 30 door prizes, and free t-shirts (while they last). Grand prize give-away will be a computer and printer.
