UMD Student Named
2001 State Student Employee of the Year

Adam Keim, a student worker in the department of UMD Career Services, was named 2001 Minnesota State Student Employee of the Year. He was previously named UMD Student Employee of the Year, and then moved on to the state competition. As the state winner, Keim was presented with a check for $75 by the Midwest Association of Student Employment Administrators (MASEA), a congratulatory letter, and a certificate honoring his selection.

Keim is a UMD junior from Sauk Rapids, Minnesota majoring in organizational management and computer science. He has been employed in the UMD Career Services Department since fall 1999 as a student information consultant. He is a 1997 graduate of St Cloud Cathedral High School.

The yearly Student Employee of the Year Award is based on five selection criteria:
Reliability
Quality of Work
Initiative
Professionalism
Uniqueness of Contribution

UMD first runner-up was Jenny Kozubik from Burnsville, Minnesota. She is a student employee in the UMD Outdoor Program.

UMD second runner-up was Jenny Christenson from Bemidji, Minnesota. She is a student employee in the UMD Stores.

Remarkably in the last four years, two previous UMD Student Employees of the Year have gone on to also win further honors. In 1999 Justin Hallquist was named both the State and the National Student Employee of the Year, and in 1998 Michel John Gerber was selected the state winner.
