UMD TO HOLD ENGINEERING DAY FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS April 12

UMD Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering will hold its 6th annual Engineering Day for high school students Wednesday, April 12 beginning at 9 a.m. in the Kirby Student Center Ballroom (3rd floor). Approximately 400 area high school students are expected to attend.

UMD faculty members will make presentations on job opportunities in the fields of Chemical, Industrial, Electrical and Computer Engineering. Representatives from area community colleges will discuss transferring from community colleges to UMD Engineering Programs followed by a panel discussion with UMD Engineering students.

The day will conclude with tours of the campus and demonstrations in the three UMD Engineering Departments.

Contributions of financial support for this event have been made by the following companies: C.G. Bretting Manufacturing Co., Continental Sales and Equipment Co. Inc., Isplat Inland Mining, Hibbing Electronics Corp., Hibbing Taconite, IRRRB, Lake Superior Paper Industries, LTV Steel Mining Co., Minnesota Power, Moline Machinery, Ltd., Noramco Engineering Corp., and Schott Foundation.
