UMD SETS "MEET THE AUTHOR" PROGRAM
"Let Sparky be Your Guide to the North Shore"
The University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) Library, UMD Outdoor Program, and
UMD Campus Books will present "Meet the Author: Let Sparky be Your Guide
to the North Shore" featuring Mark "Sparky" Stensaas on November 18, 4-6 p.m.
in the UMD Kirby Student Center Garden Room.
Mr. Stensaas will share his expertise on exploring the North Shore and provide
insights on how to use printed guidebooks and library materials to enhance
appreciation for the natural environment. He is also the author of Rock
Picker's Guide to Lake Superior's North Shore, Canoe Country Wildlife,
and Canoe Country Flora.
"Meet the Author" is the first of what will be an annual fall semester event
sponsored by the UMD Library. The Library also hosts the spring semester Northeastern
Minnesota Book Award Banquet.
Free appetizers, including "edible rocks", will be served.
The event is free and open to the public.
