Laura administered her mother's last final exam last week in her role as a graduate research assistant for Dr. Jon Pierce.
The two will be seated side-by-side at commencement ceremonies.

THE LEGARDES:
Mother-daughter combination Linda LeGarde Grover and Denise LeGarde McNeil will graduate along with their sister and aunt (respectively) Jeanne LeGarde Warttman. All three are non-traditional students; all three are married with children.
Linda and Jeanne come from a family of 14 children. Linda is the oldest girl , and Jeanne is the youngest girl. They each have three children of their own.

Denise has a three-year-old who was born while Denise was a student at UMD. The baby was considerate enough to be born during spring break.

Linda will be receiving a Doctor of Education (EdD) degree; Jeanne, a Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) degree in Community Health; and Denise, a Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) degree in Early Childhood Studies. Jeanne has been an LPN for 18 years and she has been hired by the Indian Health Services as a Community Health Specialist for the Fond du Lac Reservation.

She received her bachelors degree from UMD in 1993, and will receiver a Master of Education degree on Saturday.
