The mission of the UMD Center for Economic Development (CED) is to support the growth, diversification and stability of the economy of Northeastern Minnesota. Since 1986 the CED has provided assistance to individuals who have an interest in starting, sustaining, or expanding a business in Northeastern Minnesota. Other CED offices are located in: Hibbing, Virginia, Grand Rapids, International Falls, Two Harbors, and Ely. Expansion to the Duluth Technology Village will allow clients greater accessibility to the Center's outreach services.
