The Hmong New Year will be celebrated from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Traditional Hmong ball tossing, folk songs, and dancing will be performed.
The Holiday Festival of Cultures will take place at 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Events include a Chinese Lion Dance, Kwanza holiday performances, an Hispanic/Latino/Chicana pinata, and a potluck dinner.
Special guest speaker LeePao Xiong will present The Hmong at the Crossroads: Twenty Years in the U.S. at 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Festival activities will be followed by a dance from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
Sponsors of the event are: UMD Asian-American Learning Resource Center, UMD African-American Learning Resource Center, and UMD Hispanic/Latino/Chicana Learning Resource Center.
The Festival is free and open to the public.
All activities will be held in the UMD Kirby Student Center Ballrrom (3rd floor).
