Wireless Networking in the Library

wireless symbol

Wireless networking is available throughout the Library and adjacent Annex. These connections are authenticated (you will need to log in). The strongest signals are in near the second and fourth floor rotundas and the first and third floor reading rooms. Signal strength is often weaker in areas with book stacks.

For information on wireless authentication and troubleshooting see Wireless Computing at UMD. Short-term community (guest) users with laptops can use UMD's Wireless-Guest-Access most places on campus. This is web-only, and excludes UMD email, VPN, FTP, and the authenticated databases via the Library.

To connect to a printer from your laptop, visit a lab consultant at the far right of the circulation desk, first floor, or at the third floor help desk. See more printing info
