The Sami people have long been known as Lapplanders, but are now insisting on the use of Sami, their own name for themselves. They live in the Arctic regions of Norway, Sweden, Finland and Russia. On display are the Pentateuch and Psalms in Norwegian Sami, published in Kristiansen in 1840 and the Gospel of Matthew in Russian Sami, published in Helsinki in 1878.
