Although Gutenberg's production of the Bible was a triumph technologically, it was a failure financially, and his creditors, Fust and Schöffer took over the business. They proceeded to continue with his work, producing a Psalter in 1457, the year after the Bible was completed. Exhibited is a page from the Psalter, as re-printed in 1927 on a press such as Gutenberg would have used in the Gutenberg Museum in Mainz. It is the beginning of Psalm 1: "Beatus vir qui no abiit in consilio impiorum".
