New Revised Standard Version, 1989

This translation is in the continuous tradition of "authorized" versions in English, following the King James Version of 1611, the American Standard Version (1901), and the Revised Standard Version (1952). It was intended to be a version incorporating all new knowledge, incurrent English which would be idiomatic, but without being stilted.
