UMD Tech Camp Application

Applications should be word processed using a minimum of 10 pt type and a maximum of three (3) pages plus the addendum.

  2. What course do you propose developing as an online course (example: WRIT 1120 - College Writing)?
  3. Why is this course a good candidate for an online format?
  4. How do you envision this course will be taught in an online format?
  5. If your course will require a change in Instruction Mode, please note the following deadlines to complete this:
  6. Write 3-5 high-level goals for your proposed course. These goals will form the foundation for your course design, and will be used when you consult with Amanda, Kara or Bruce to turn course goals into measurable objectives.
  7. Write 3-5 high-level aspirations for your participation in Tech Camp. These aspirations will be used to guide your experience during Tech Camp.
  8. Have you completed an online course either as a teacher or a student? If yes, please describe your experience. If no, why have you not taught or taken an online course?
  9. What online software (e.g., Moodle) have you used?
  10. If you have attended Tech Camp previously, how would you benefit from attending again?
  11. This Tech Camp is designed to be approximately equivalent to a 2 credit course (UMD credit standards). Even though Tech Camp is online, it is not a self-paced, independent study course. You will be interacting with your instructors and peers throughout each week including weekends. Plan for approximately 5 hours of course work each week from February 9, 2015 to April 26, 2015. Are you available to consult with Amanda Evans, Kara Hanson or Bruce Reeves between January 12 and February 6, 2015 and fully particpate in Tech Camp from February 9, 2015 to April 26, 2015?
