Summer Housing Overview

UMD Summer Housing offers a variety of housing options that are available for you!

UM Students
Housing is available during May Session & Summer Session courses for current UM students. Current UMD Housing residents may stay in campus housing as Extended Summer renters. Students can contact the 189 Lake Superior Hall Information Desk for more information.

UMD Workshop Attendees
Offering or taking a short-term class or workshop on the UMD campus? Individual workshop attendees can rent a campus residence hall room for a single night or up to three weeks. Workshop coordinators and attendees can contact the Summer Housing Office for more information.

Camp & Conference Groups
Planning a summer camp or conference? Campus housing, dining services and meeting space for your group can all be coordinated through UMD’s Kirby Student Center Events & Conferences staff.

Grandma's Marathon Runners & Supporters
Marathon runners or supporters can rent residence hall rooms or apartments during Grandma's Marathon weekend in June. We begin taking reservations on March 1.

Summer Seniors
The UMD Summer Senior Rental Program offers housing and programming for active retirees for 5, 8 and 10 week sessions each summer. We begin taking reservations in January.

Effective for Summer 2016, UMD will no longer offer summer housing to Miscellaneous Renters.

We do not offer short-term vacation rentals, with the exception of Grandma's marathon weekend. For area lodging information see VisitDuluth.
