You could do both in a single semester or split them across semesters, but you must complete requirements in the year specified. You may not load on courses or non-courses one year to reduce the requirements for another year.

**You will receive a notice each year from the program director indicating your progress toward completion of program requirements. If you plan to graduate from UMD early you should contact the UH director to create an amended plan that fulfills the requirements in a shorter time period.

***Faculty agreement to work as a mentor on a UH capstone project counts as Faculty-Guided Research category for the non-course experience during the senior year.
