University Honors Contract Courses

One of your University Honors course requirements can be (but does not need to be) filled by way of contract.* A University Honors contract course is a regular (non-honors) class for which you develop an agreement with the professor (which must be approved by UH) to do additional work for or engagement in the class for which you will get University Honors credit. Existing departmental honors courses (e.g., Honors Chemistry I and II, Honors Calculus, and Honors Computer science) count as a University Honors contract course. If you want a department level honors course to count for your one allowable UH contract course or you wish to approach a professor about making his or her class a UH contract class, take a look at the Contract Course Information Sheet and be sure to fill out the necessary Contract Course Form.

*Up to one additional University Honors course may be negotiated in special circumstances. These appeals should be made to the University Honors director and will be granted under extenuating circumstances.
