The Student Health Advisory Committee is a group of dedicated students who act as a student voice to UMD Health Services and school administration.
Members meet weekly for one hour to discuss current issues and brainstorm solutions. SHAC members are given the opportunity to volunteer additional time on special projects throughout the year.

Providing ongoing education and awareness around the tobacco free campus policy
Developing a collaboration with Spirit Mountain to provide free shuttle service for area college students to the ski hill.
Supporting a proposal for a Wellness Living and Learning Floor in the residence halls.
Water access in residence halls. SHAC, along with NetImpact, and several departments across campus, worked to increase drinking water access in the dorms through grant funding for gooseneck water faucets specific to filling water bottles.
A Campus Food Survey and various presentations and proposals for easier access to nutritious foods on campus.
Food and Nutrition Workshop Series.
Vending Project, pilot project for fresh foods in select vending machines.
Health Services marketing and promotional support.
SHAC members (2013), Sam Knuth and Judy Breuer, wrote a grant to bring water bottle filling stationsto the housing units on campus for easier water access.
