Do You Qualify? 

  • You are a registered college student
  • You are a US citizen and a Minnesota resident
  • You are not pregnant
  • You are not enrolled in other Minnesota Care Programs

Services Covered

  • Annual exam (pelvic, Pap smear, breast exam and associated labs)
  • Birth control
  • Testing and treatment of sexually transmitted infections identified during initial exam
  • Emergency contraception

Services Not Covered

  • Abortions
  • Infertility treatments
  • Treatments for HIV/AIDS

To Enroll

UMD Health Services is a participant in the Minnesota Family Planning Program. To enroll, students will need to meet with one of our billing staff, and complete an application form. Upon completing the form, students are given a 30-day pre-enrollment term.

To obtain an official program card and coverage for one full year, bring the following documentation to your Health Services appointment:

  • Student ID
  • Proof of citizenship: copy of birth certificate or passport
  • Proof of income: 30 consecutive days of pay stubs (excluding work study) to show income meets limits.
