Glensheen Garden Tours

Wednesdays, July 11, 18, and 25 at 6PM

Details: A turn-of-the-last century adventure in self-sustainability on the shores of Lake Superior.

In 1905, the rugged shoreline at 3300 London Road began a transformation. Landscape architect Charles Wellford Leavitt, Jr. worked with the Congdon family in carefully preserving as much of the natural landscape as possible while making the estate
self-sufficient. More than a century later, the legacy of this remarkable partnership lives on.

Experience the Congdon legacy during this special grounds tour. The guides are two enthusiastic experts who recommend wearing shoes suitable for walking the seven-acre estate…and sticking around for the Concerts by the Lake after the tour.

Please meet at the gardener's cottage a little before 6 PM for the tour.

Price: Free
