The staff members in First Year Experience & Students in Transition understand and recognize that parents and guardians play a significant role in helping their sons/daughters prepare for college life and in students' success throughout their time at UMD. The Parents & Family Program offers information and referrals to help parents support their UMD students. UMD's Parents & Family Program is coordinated by Vince Repesh. The page also includes contact information for the Parents & Family program coordinator. Parent HandbookThe Parent Handbook is given out at Advisement & Registration sessions, but the content can be useful to parents of continuing students as well as new students. This web version is a handy reference that answers many common questions that parents of UMD students may have. Parents & Family WeekendThe 2012-2013 parent weekend is full of special events for parents and family and will be held Friday, October 19 - Sunday, October 21, 2012. More information to come in September! Parent Program at Advisement & RegistrationParents and families of new students are welcome to attend the parent program while their students are engaged in advisement and registration. Parent Program at Bulldog Welcome WeekParents of new freshman students are invited to a short parent program on the afternoon of August 30, 2012. Bulldog Welcome Week Information and ScheduleNew freshman students are required to attend the Welcome Week events from August 30, 2012- September 3, 2012. Optional activities for all students continue September 4 - September 11. |
