OUR THANKS TO YOU!!

To thank you for providing a clinical education experience to one of our students, the CSD Department offers you the following:

1.     Free Continuing Education:   The Department of Communication offers a series of professional lectures sponsored by the Edwin Eddy Foundation.  Primary assigned supervisors of students are eligible for waived fees to Eddy Lectures through the Eddy Lecture Voucher Program. At the conclusion of providing an internship experience to a graduate student, you will receive your voucher for attending an Eddy Lecture at no cost to you.  Go to http://www.d.umn.edu/csd/eddy.html for information on upcoming Eddy Lectures and information about the Voucher Program.

2.     Access to Resources:  The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders has an extensive Clinic Resource Center.  Access to the CSD Department’s clinical resources for the duration of the placement.
Interns will be responsible for checking out and returning materials within one week.  It is the policy of the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders to lend materials only to faculty and students in the Department.  We are unable to loan materials directly to community members who are not in the CSD Program, as materials are reserved for research, classroom instruction, and clinical education in the Department.

3.     Honorarium:  The CSD Department offers an honorarium of $75 for a part time placement and $150 for a full-time externship.
Honoraria are dependent upon the university funding availability.  Affiliation agreements specify whether the honorarium is given to the facility or the supervisor.  Some affiliation agreements do not allow for honoraria. Check your specific affiliation agreement for details.
