Origins Public Lecture Series

What is the origin of the Universe? What are the fundamental building blocks of the world? Why do we exist? Driven by curiosity, scientist are unrevealing the mysteries of nature based on reason, logic and experiments. The Origins public lecture series, organized by members of the Center for Cosmology at UMD, brings cutting edge insights in contemporary theoretical physics to a broad audience. Hosted at the Marshall W. Alworth Planetarium, senior center members and invited speakers will challenge your world-view as they introduce you to the big bang and the multiverse, black holes, gravitational waves, string theory and extra dimension among other topics. We live in a remarkable time of scientific enlightenment and we hope to share our excitement with you!
