Funding to support COIL projects

Collaborative International Learning projects are often supported by smaller local grants.  And in many cases faculty pursue these projects without additional funding from either host institution.  There are, however, a wide variety of opportunities to secure funding that can deepen the impact of COIL modules and courses.  Below several of these funding sources are listed, both within the University of Minnesota System, and externally.  Many of these funding sources were found at the UMN Funding Search Engine, listed to the left under "related links."

New Funding opportunity:

The University of Minnesota system-wide Collaborative International Online Learning (COIL) group has funding of a $500 in personal development funds per person for up to 5 faculty across the UM system. Faculty from all UM campuses who are interested can apply for this funding. This award is to fund international online collaborative projects.  The award will be paid in the form of professional development funds (not salary) upon the completion of the project. Successful applicants will then participate in a half-day retreat with other COIL faculty at the end of Spring 2018 semester. If you are interested in applying for this, come to one of our sessions to learn more about this opportunity!
