NurembergA survivor Remembers

This year's Baeumler Kaplan Holocaust Commemoration speaker is Fred Amram. Amram was born in Germany in 1933 and emigrated to the U.S. in 1939. He taught Communication and Creativity (among other courses) on the Twin Cities campus for many years. His keynote speech on living under the Nazi regime is scheduled for Thursday, April 16 at 7:00 p.m. in Bohannon 90. He will also be giving at talk at Temple Israel on Friday, April 17 at 5:30 p.m. You are all welcome to attend both events.








IdaYom Ha Shoah (Day of Holocaust Remembrance) service onWednesday, April 15 at 6:00 p.m. at Temple Israel, and a screening of the film "Ida" at 7. There is a $5 charge to cover the cost of veggie pizza and Temple asks that you call 724-8857 to let them know if you want to see the film.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 



Wednesday, April 22 at noon Deborah Petersen-Perlman and Tom Isbell will give a one-hour brown bag on our individual trips to concentration camps over the summer of 2014. Our talk will be held in Humanities 314.

Thursday, April 23 at noon in the library rotunda, Mrs. Cindy Seiler will be giving a talk on the Shanghai ghetto. This talk is co-sponsored by the Alworth Institute.

Friday, April 24 at 2 p.m., we will be showing a film on The Armenian Genocide. This year is the 100th anniversary of the beginning of that horrendous period in world history. UWS History professor Karl Bahm will introduce the film in Solon Campus Center 120.
