The Department of Education agrees to collaborate with PBS eight to offer graduate credit to licensed preK-12 teachers and other educators who successfully complete predetermined PBS TeacherLine modules and additional products of learning. A PBS trained facilitator will teach each module, with an instructor of record approved by the Education department overseeing the credit portion of the module sections.
The instructor of record will use the rubric to assign a grade based on evaluation of the paper.
Each module approved for credit will require a course proposal for a distinct course number at the 6000 level.
Through PBS right and Twin Cities Public Television, the plan for TeacherLine is to offer it statewide. UMD would be the exclusive higher education partner of PBS eight for this initiative.
