HIGHLIGHTS OF THE CLASS OF 2004 - 2005
The data for this report were collected through mail and e-mail surveys and follow-up telephone calls and is accurate as of January 2006. The office of Career Services surveyed alumni who received undergraduate degrees from UMD between July 1, 2004 and June 30, 2005. This report is based on responses from 996 graduates (63% of the reported 1575 undergraduate students granted degrees during the designated time frame).
Of the 996 respondents, 837 (84%) reported "employed" or "continuing education,"
- 677 (69%) reported "employed,"
- 160 (16%) reported "continuing education."
Of the 677 employed, 580 (86%) responded to a question about the relevance of their jobs to their majors, with 482 (83%) reporting employment "related" or "somewhat related" to major,
- 363 (63%) reported employment "related" to major,
- 119 (21%) reported employment "somewhat related" to major.
Of the 677 employed, 498 (79%) reported accepting employment in Minnesota.
Of the 996 respondents, 149 (15%) reported that they were still seeking employment.
