Graduate Follow-up Report
UMD Career and Internship Services conducts an annual follow-up survey of new UMD graduates. Every year we contact graduates who received degrees in the previous year to find out what they've been doing during their first year after graduation.
New! We have just completed the first ever Follow-up Report for UMD Graduate Programs. Where applicable, the Graduate Programs reports have been added to the sections below.
All reports are in .pdf format.
View the complete Graduate Follow-up Report for a year, containing all the sections listed separately below. Both Undergraduate and Graduate reports are in this report. If you like data, aren't sure what you want, or just want to browse, this is the one!
"Highlights of the Class of ___": A one-pager with overall percentages (not broken down by major) for employed, continuing education, internships, etc.
"Annual Statistic Comparison": A one-pager comparing five years of basic data.
"By Major" reports: All the information about a specific undergraduate major in one place! See the list...
Not available for the Graduate Programs at this time.
"Statistics": Lists each non-teaching major along with numbers employed, continuing education, still seeking, not seeking, percent placed.
"Follow-up of Majors": Lists each non-teaching major along with the name and/or location of employer or school, if continuing education. If you want to know where graduates are working, this is the report you want! Tip: It's long, so use Edit > Find in Adobe Reader to search for a particular major.
"Baccalaureate Teaching Statistics": Lists each undergraduate teaching major along with numbers employed, continuing education, still seeking, not seeking, percent placed.
"Follow-up of Teaching Majors": Lists each undergraduate teaching major along with the name and/or location of employer or school, if continuing education. If you want to know where graduates are working, this is the report you want!
"Reported Annual Salaries": Wondering how much you might make when you graduate? Low, High, Mean and Median salary for each major. Keep in mind that very few graduates are getting the high salary. While not impossible, the median is more realistic for most graduates.
"Job Relevance by Major": Graduates reported on whether their job is related, somewhat related or not related to their major. Listed by major under each college.
"Internships by Major": Lists each major and number of graduates who completed an internship, received credit for it, got a job offer from it, and accepted the offer.
Internship data is not collected on the Graduate Programs survey.
