Department of Biology Awards and Scholarships
The Department of Biology is proud of the accomplishments of its students and seeks a variety of means by which to recognize them. Foremost are several awards and scholarships of varying amounts that are awarded annually. Below is information and the application for the awards and scholarships available though the department for students studying the life sciences. Awards are chosen through faculty nominations and do not require an application. Scholarships are awarded to students that have submitted applications (see application link below). To ensure all students are aware of these opportunities, an email is sent approximately six weeks before the application deadline.
We are now accepting applications for the 2017-2018 Biology Scholarships.
Deadline is 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday March 15, 2017.
Scholarships and Awards Administered Through SCSE
Numerous scholarships and awards are administered through the UMD Swenson College of Science and Engineering. These include the Solidarity Through Science Scholarship, Dr. Alan M. Johns Pre-Medical Scholarship, and Milton H. Sax Scholarship. Additional information and application materials can be found on the SCSE Awards and Scholarships page.
