Here is your official transfer checklist:
Fall Admits: Sign-up and attend Orientation You'll leave campus with important information, connections to peers, your UCard, and your class schedule. As a transfer student, you have two options for an Orientation session: Transfer Orientation that's available just for transfer students, with a specific focus on how your previous experience transfers to UMD; and one that's available to all incoming students. All sessions are scheduled throughout the summer months.
Transfer Prep is an optional 30-minute meeting with our Transfer Student Coordinator that will prepare you for Orientation and your transition to UMD.Meeting includes:
- What transcripts UMD currently has on file and their transfer evaluation status
- Review Academic Progress Report (APAS)
- Review how courses will apply to your UMD transcript
- Answer any additional questions you might have
Complete online at fafsa.ed.gov and have the information sent to UMD (Federal School Code: 002388).
Fall Admits: Students can apply for housing beginning February 1. Information about on-campus housing is delivered to admitted students beginning mid-January. Housing availability may be limited after May 1.
Submit all final official college transcripts to UMD. Be sure to send us your final transcript from your current institution once final grades have been posted:

Students admitted to UMD for Fall 2018, are required to attend Transfer Bulldog Welcome on Wednesday, August 22. More information on Transfer Bulldog Welcome will be emailed to you.
February - March 2018 — Estimated Financial Aid Award Notices are sent out to students for Fall 2018.
June 15, 2018 — Application priority deadline for scholarship consideration for fall semester.
August 22, 2018 — Transfer Bulldog Welcome for new students.
August 27, 2018 — Fall semester classes begin!
