Kathryn A. Martin Library, c. 2000

The Kathryn A. Martin Library opened on September 1, 2000. It was built at a cost of $25.8 million. The main building and the Library Annex provide 167,570 gross square feet of space. The Kathryn A. Martin Library houses a collection of more than 750,000 volumes with access to over 20,000 journals in paper or electronic formats.

Each floor has computers with internet access, with over 300 in the library. The entire library has wireless internet access. There are also group study rooms available.

  • There is an Echo Circle directly beneath the chandelier on the first floor. If you stand in it and speak, your voice will bounce back to you amplified. However, no one else outside the circle will hear the amplification.

Next Location

Leave the Kathryn A. Martin Library and take the spiral staircase to the bottom floor, bear right and follow the hallway up the ramp. Continue straight, and turn left down the hallway to the Swenson Civil Engineering Building.
