Used by Department of Art and Design.

Second Floor

Department of History

Offers a wide variety of subjects that include the history of science, the history of the Holocaust, of Africa, Russia, the Middle East as well as U.S. foreign and domestic policy.

Third Floor

Department of Philosophy

Explores the theories advanced by the greatest minds about the nature of truth, reality, knowledge, art, science, and morality. This department also offers a major in applied ethics.

Fourth Floor

Department of Communication

Offers a broad-based liberal arts program emphasizing the breadth and diversity of the field of human communication. Students are required to take course work in public speaking, communication theory, and media and society.

  • A. B. Anderson only connects to Humanities on the 2nd and 4th floors.
  • A. B. Anderson Hall was named after the Minnesota state legislator who proposed that the Duluth State Teacher's College become a coordinate campus of the University of Minnesota.
